That is why engineers call it the nominal concrete mixture as the mixing ratio in M20 grade of concrete is 1: 1.5 : 3, where 1 part cement is 1.5 parts sand and three parts aggregate.

2) Mixed Concrete Design: – It is a standard type of concrete mix where expert engineers determine the mixing ratio of cement sand and aggregates according to the concrete and the strength requirements of concrete for tall buildings over forming bridge embankments for piles.

The engineer calculates and decides to calculate the mixing ratio mainly according to the strength requirements of the construction of civil works. So higher grade of m25, like M30, m35, m40, and m50, does not have a fixed mixing ratio of concrete which is why engineers call it design mix concrete.
