Firestop Systems

Fire protection is an increasingly important part of today’s building industry largely due to urbanization, which increases the risk for a life-threatening fire to spread quickly.

Firestop Systems

Passive fire protection systems have become a code requirement in any building design, right from the start of a project, as modern building frameworks are interspersed with multiple utility and network services including cables, pipes and ventilation ducts in both horizontal and vertical directions, resulting in countless penetrations through most of the walls and floors. Each of these penetrations and every joint between different building structures, elements and areas, is potentially a passage for the spread of flames, heat and toxic smoke into adjoining rooms and areas, which – in the worst case – may result in uncontrolled fire propagation throughout the entire building. Here comes the role of passive fire protection systems as they are designed to impede the spread of flames, deadly gases and toxic smoke by blocking gaps in walls, ceilings and floors caused by penetrations from pipes, cables and joints in fire-rated areas.

BuildIn has successfully installed firestop systems at educational buildings, commercial buildings and other sectors. To know more about our services, checkout our projects or get in touch with our experts.
